Image Correction Techniques in Photoshop & Photoshop Elements.
This workshop will cover the tools and processes you need to know to correct image problems like: exposure, contrast, color, and sharpness. What we'll cover:
- Tools and techniques for correcting exposure, contrast, and color balance
- Benefits of shooting in camera raw and how to use the RAW processor
- Cropping and sizing your image for printing and for the web
- Sharpening your image for print and for the web
This workshop introduces basic image correction techniques that are important to understand before you move into image enhancement. The next workshop (April) will cover tools and processes to use for "enhancing" your image: lightening and darkening specific areas, enhancing color and contrast for effect, adding or removing items from your image, and some special effects to make your image stand out.
Workshops at the gallery are limited to 10 attendees per session. They fill up fast so be sure to register early. Additional dates/hours will be added if necessary.

OPERATION HOME FRONT
Photos taken during Operation Home Front (Jan 5, 2010) are now on the website. Click on GALLERY then on OPERATION HOME FRONT. Thanks to the Rockbridge Camera Club members who helped with the candid shots: Gail MacLeod, Ellen Martin, Debbie Maurer, Steve Shires, Bill & Becki Wells, and Sue Nell Dillon. And another special thanks to the businesses in Clifton Forge (listed on the Menu page for Operation Home Front) who supported the project.
Fire and Light is a gallery highlighting the blacksmith work of Glen Bryant and the photography of Chuck Almarez. During the day, we run a herd of Boer Goats, Angus-Gelbvieh cattle, and a bunch of horses on Lost River Farm in Iron Gate, VA. After hours (and in our spare time) Glen beats iron on his forge and Chuck spends too much time taking pictures in and around the Alleghany Highlands and operating Kid Pix Photography in Clifton Forge. The work on this site represents some of those lost hours.
To find out more about each of us go to the Menu and click on Blacksmithing or Photography. You can navigate around this website by using the buttons at the upper left.
